The Skyline Name has been dropped for the current Generation of the GTR. Traditionally High-Performance versions of the Skylines had the GTR badge on them. Now it's a separate identy but it still holds true to it's lineage.
The last Skyline GTR was the Skyline GTR R34 and this one is the First GT-R R35. It is sold and marketted as the Nissan GT-R in both Japan and the United States.

$70k is a great price for a vehicle that can out perform a 911 turbo. Shame that they are only producing 1500 of them a year. Good luck on getting one Ralph.

The Nissan GT-R is going to be one of the greatest advancements in automotive history, not just the engineering aspect but the affordability of the highest available performance to the majority of supercar fans. I will definitely be putting in my preorder very soon so that I can have my little piece of history.
